Canon 60d Test, No Other Camera, For Its Price, Has Impressed Me Like The 60 d

I love the Canon 60 d. The 60d is the a very practical and dynamic way of shooting. This is all about a cool Canon 60d test that told me the true potential of this camera.

I wanted to see how low I could go. And at the same time how high I could go. No I’m not talking about addictions, unless it is a photographic one.

Low light, and high ISO is what I am talking about. Now I’ve been a pro shooter for film and TV for over twenty years, and no other camera, for its price, has impressed me like the 60 d. How come?

Let my Canon 60d test do the talking. What I asked myself is what is the tiniest light I could get to do the lighting. Which light did I select? A cigarette lighter, the smallest flame I could find. Now getting a clean image was important to me. How did I get this done. I eliminated ISOs one at a time.

So I was able to light my scene with one cigarette lighter using 640 ISO. It was clean and amazing to see. Clicking the lighter is all I needed to light my basement.

Getting such a clean image at such a high ISO is amazing. It is very necessary to use a fast lens. Use prime lenses. Prime lenses will get you a cleaner image in the dark.

The Glass is more important than the sensor. It does not matter if you have a big sensor if your lens is a piece of crap. It makes no sense to buy a cheap lens. Kit lenses are useless.

The 5d can go higher in terms of ISO, so if you need more get it. If you go high enough on any DSLR you will get a noisy image so be careful, know your limits.

But being able to light a scene with a lighter is probably as low as you want to go, or need to go, so the 60 d is quite sufficient. Any photographer would love to have a full frame camera, you just get more light to the image, but honestly who really needs it, except landscape photographers.

I love the image you get from the 60 d, and it is still a 35mm film equivalent frame size.

If you are using the 60 d as your secondary camera, it is important to do your own test.

Matching both cameras is important. If you are looking for a film look the 60 d is best adjusted. What you do is turn down the saturation, contrasts, and sharpness to give you a nice flat image that you can color-grade later. My Canon 60d review site has some cool 60 d tests.
